LMCA Aims & Objectives

Introduction:

The Leisure Management Contractors Association (LMCA) was formed in 1990 with encouragement from the Sports Council.

LMCA is an association of professional, experienced and high quality leisure management companies that offer the best possible standards of service to local authorities and the communities they serve.

LMCA engage with national, regional and local organisations for the furtherance of sport, health and leisure in the UK.

Mission Statement:

To be a respected and influential organisation of Member companies which will promote and develop professional standards within the local authority leisure management sector.

Objectives:

  • To promote at all times a professional image for the leisure industry.
  • To become a recognised voice in the leisure industry, representing the views and interests of its Members at regional and national levels.
  • To safeguard the interests of Members and local authority clients.
  • To promote the principles of professional practice and good management of private leisure management companies.
  • To offer a forum for the discussion of matters of concern and interest to Members.
  • To keep Members informed on relevant issues.
  • To work in a spirit of partnership with all client organisations requiring advice and guidance on any aspect of the “contractual” process or assistance in the continuation of service.
  • To provide in all managed facilities a safe environment for sport, leisure,  exercise and health related activities.
  • To continually seek to raise standards of delivery and to assist in the pursuit of a physically active and healthier nation.
